TV BRICS has provided a summary of the outcomes from the BRICS Global Media Tour - Russian Edition, which brought together heads of renowned media organizations from BRICS countries and Africa, as reported by TV BRICS.


The event was jointly organized by the BRICS-Media Association and TV BRICS, with the generous support of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund. The media tour encompassed various tracks, including educational, business, and cultural aspects.


The educational track comprised conferences and expert sessions focusing on professional education in journalism and media, as well as multilateral cooperation between BRICS and Africa. These sessions took place at the GITR Film & Television School and the Gorchakov Fund. Notably, the participants visited the UN Information Centre in Moscow as part of the educational track and took part in the expert session titled "UN Work in Russia. SDGs and Media," as reported by TV BRICS. During the session, TV BRICS presented the collaborative results with UNIC in promoting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).


Additionally, the heads of prominent media organizations from BRICS and Africa had the opportunity to visit the Kemerovo branch of the Russian State Institute of Performing Arts (RGISI). They were acquainted with the educational programs, teaching methodologies, and studying opportunities offered by the university. RGISI, as the oldest theatrical university in the country and Europe's largest center for performing arts, specializes in training professionals for the theatrical industry.

Janna Tolstikova, the CEO of TV BRICS, expressed her confidence that the media tour would foster new connections between Russian and BRICS countries' media outlets, contributing to the further development of university collaborations among BRICS nations.


The highlight of the tour was the delegation's visit to the ceremony announcing the laureates of the Global Energy Prize 2023 in Kemerovo. This international event, initiated and organized by Russia, holds a high level of prestige in attracting global scientific gatherings. The Global Energy Prize, recognized worldwide, aims to reward scientists for their outstanding research and contributions to addressing global issues and sustainable development, as per TV BRICS.


During their visit to the Kuzbass region, noted as one of Russia's leading energy regions, the participants of the media tour had the opportunity to observe the mining process of the Chernigovskiy coal mine, gaining insights into the extraction of this natural resource in the Russian Federation. Moreover, the delegates visited the Tomskaya Pisanitsa Museum-Reserve, an expansive complex showcasing the history and culture of Eurasian peoples across a 156-hectare area, illustrating the cultural richness of the Kemerovo Region.


The cultural program for media representatives from BRICS and Africa included visits to prominent sites such as Red Square, the Tretyakov Gallery, the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, and the Museum of the Special Purpose Garage of the Russian Federal Security Service.


The business track featured a dialogue at the Moscow representative office of TV BRICS.


Based on the nine-day tour, the organizers expressed their satisfaction with its success, highlighting the participants' opportunity to explore Russia's cultural, historical, and natural wealth. The tour facilitated practical knowledge exchange, networking, and strengthened cooperation between the media outlets from different countries. The hope is that the participants will return to their respective countries with a comprehensive and objective understanding of Russia, its internal life, and the opportunities it offers for international collaboration.


TV BRICS emphasized the potential for organizing similar tours in other BRICS countries, with Russia as the initiator of the project, through the support and patronage of each respective country.
